Optometry is a unique primary eye care profession. Elite School of Optometry is a college in St. Thomas Mount, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India offering a four year professional degree in Optometry. (B. S. Optometry). The college is run by Medical Research Foundation in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology and Science, (BITS) Pilani, India. Students enrolled in the course undergo three years of academic training in Elite School of Optometry and the final year of internship includes training in various specialties in all the branches of Sankara Nethralaya. Elite School of Optometry is a pioneer in the field of optometry education in India and is the first college to offer a four year professional degree in Optometry.
